St Michaels, in Fulham SW6, was run as youth centre for many years until planning permission was approved for nine flats with a commercial unit on the ground floor, whilst crucially seeking to retain as much of the building as possible.
To commence the contracted works, the 3 original concrete floors were ripped out and removed from site. This allowed our Firm to form 4 new timber framed floors, (4Th floor built when roof was removed) using ply posts and LVL beams. This project has 8m long mansard rafters, spreading across 2 separate floors, which holds a 14mx6m flat roof section at the peak of the building, whilst allowing access to multiple balconies located on the 3rd and 4th floor. There is also a 2no 3 story extensions, added to both north and south elevations of the building. Once all timber framed floors/walls/roof are completed, we will also be completing the 2nd fix package, including additional items such as insulating/screed flooring/external balcony steel and framework etc.
